This blog is maintained by the students of the module “From Print to Digital: Publishing Revolutions” at the School of Arts, English and Drama, Loughborough University.. In this module, students learn about the history of the development of the publishing industry since the invention of printing, and about the structure and dynamics of the modern book trade. The essential insights informing this book on revolutions in the making of the modern world were already present in a paper Martin Malia delivered at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association in that the numerous revolutions of the twentieth century have deep roots in European history, specifically; and that revolutionary thought and action underwent a process.
Reading Revolutions gives Drake the full treatment though, as its subtitle makes clear, this book is in no way a conventional biography. Sharpe provides some coverage of the man's life and various spheres of action (and inaction) as estate builder, improving landlord, lawyer, office holder and MP who, by and large, rode out the troubled civil. it is hard to relate gender differences to today’s modern society. Gender equality, and the fact that men are not as controlling anymore, contrast Nora and Torvald’s situation. Reality shows gender equality (for the most part). The characters of the story have a lot of drama in their lives, dealing with love, betrayal, feminism, and crime.
